SOLON – Roland Easler, 76, of Durham, went to meet the Big Chief in the Sky, Nov. 13, in Solon, with his family by his side, after a long illness.
He was born Nov. 15, 1930, in Madison, the son of Jasper and Rita (Gordon) Easler. He was educated in the schools of Madison and Skowhegan.
He married Doreen Currier in 1969 in Freeport. He was a farmer most of his live, working on the Serenity Farm. He also worked as a lobsterman, pumpkin farmer and worked in local shoe shops for many years. He enjoyed being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Doreen of Durham; children, Gary of Freeport, Noland of Lisbon, Cheryl of Lisbon Falls, Rodney of Lisbon Falls, Becky Durham and Oland “Boss” of Durham; mother, Rita Gordon of Freeport; and a great friend, Brenda; brothers, Ray Gordon of Portsmouth, N.H., and Ronnie Easler of Sarasota, Fla.; sisters, Ginny Venzezino of Madison, Lucrita Curtis of Lisbon Falls, Juanita Currier of Freeport and Cathy Morrill of Freeport; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many many great-nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Jasper; infant son, Bradley; and his sister, Ellie.
