HAMPDEN – The Maine Soccer Coaches Senior 13th Annual Senior Bowl games were held at Hampden Academy on Sunday. All seniors named to one of the all-state teams were eligible to compete.

In the boys’ game, the West Seniors avenged last year’s 6-5 loss with a 9-3 defeat of the East.

Tyler Metevier of Traip scored two goals for the Wesr, while Nick Viola of Deering, Zach Stover of Gorham, Kendhall Davis of Gray-New Gloucester, Chris Eustis of Georges Valley, Trevor Higgins of Traip Academy, Oliver Blum of Greely and Tristen Corriveau of Waynflete each scored single goals. Assists were notched by Blum, Eustis and Cody Zane of NYA.

Scorers for the East team were Tyler Cote of Ashland with Sam Kaplan of Brunswick assisting, Ryan Noyes of Fort Fairfield with Mike Little of Machias assisting, and Alex Martin of Van Buren on a penalty kick.

Goalkeepers for the West were Blum, Alexander Pilitsis of NYA and Tim Post of Greenville. Keepers for the East were Brian Bousquet-Smith of Mt. Ararat, Tyler Levasseur of Winslow and Lanny Thompson of Schenck.

The senior girls played to a 2-2 tie. Goal scorers for the West squad were Alex Woodhouse of Waynflete and Tierney Minte of Yarmouth. Taylor LaBrecque of Falmouth assisted the Woodhouse goal.

Allison Richards of Caribou and Amy Hackett of Bangor tallied for the East. Assists were turned in by Amanda Gifford of Lee Academy and Maggie Lane of John Bapst. Keepers were Lauren Howard of Kennebunk, Katie Woodman of Monmouth Academy and Jill Martel of Piscataquis.

The coaches issue warm thanks to those who volunteered time for a cold day of soccer.
