Collecting food
SABATTUS – The Sabattus Town Office is collecting nonperishable food to donate to the local food pantry in time for Christmas. Any donations can be brought to the Town Office from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays.
Thanksgiving hour
AUBURN – Members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, 79 Lake St., will gather Thanksgiving Day at 10 a..m. to welcome the community to spend an hour in prayer and in giving of thanks.
The service will begin with the official Thanksgiving Proclamation, followed by prayer and celebratory music. After Scriptural readings and correlative passages from “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy, the congregation will be invited to give gratitude for personal experiences in witnessing divine provision.

Bridge results
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Nov. 13 were: first, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; second, Larry Fortier and Fred Letourneau; third/first in B, Lucille Bilodeau and Alberta Turner; fourth, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; second in B, Helen Little and Anita Perrier.
Winners at Schooner Estates on Nov. 14 were: first, Les Buzzell and John Hackett; second, Martine Begert and Patricia Garcia; third, Alberta Turner and Lucille Bilodeau.
Games are played at 9 a.m. Tuesdays and 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 754-1431 for information about all duplicate bridge games.
No game will be played on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, Nov. 21.
Look good
LEWISTON – “Look Good … Feel Better,” the American Cancer Society’s program for assisting women who are faced with appearance changes resulting from cancer treatment, will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Central Maine Medical Center’s Sam and Jennie Bennett Breast Care Center, 12 High St., Suite 103.
