Yule open house
OXFORD – The Oxford Historical Society will hold a Christmas open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Kay House Museum, Pleasant Street. There will be demonstrations, children’s activities, tours of the house and barn (museums) and refreshments. Everyone is encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to place under the Christmas tree to be donated to the local Santa for Kids Project.
Thanksgiving
NORTH WATERFORD – The Rev. George Frobig has announced a community Thanksgiving Eve service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at the North Waterford Congregational Church, UCC. The service will be held jointly with the Waterford Congregational Church, UCC.
Regular Sunday worship services are being held at 10 a.m. each Sunday at the North Waterford church, Five Kezars Road, opposite Melby’s Market. Services are being held at North Waterford through the winter. Each Sunday choir practice is held at 9 a.m. and Bible study at 9:15 a.m. before the service.
Society to meet
WEST PARIS – The Finnish-American Heritage Society of Maine will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Finnish-American Heritage Center, 8 Maple St.
Nominations
NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for its community awards. The deadline for nominations is Friday, Dec. 28. Awards will be presented at the chamber’s annual dinner on Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Norway Armory. Call 743-2281 for more information and/or to request an official nomination form.
