DIXFIELD – The Oxford County Democrats held their “Final Push Supper” on Nov. 2 at the American Legion Hall. The spaghetti dinner was prepared by the Legion members.

County Chairwoman Cathy Newell of Greenwood welcomed the group and mentioned the help needed for the District 93 House race.

She introduced the legislators and elected officials in attendance, including House Majority Leader Hannah Pingree, Assistant Majority Leader Sean Faircloth, Rep. John Patrick, Sen. Bruce Bryant, Rep. Tim Carter and Rep. Janet Mills, as well as Sheriff Wayne Gallant and Maine Democratic Party Chairman John Knutson.

Congressman Mike Michaud offered remarks about the work he is doing with veterans and spoke about the importance of the efforts of the grassroots efforts to attract and support legislative candidates.

Congressman Tom Allen highlighted the reasons he is running for the U.S. Senate. He encouraged those present to visit his Web site, www.tomallen.org.

Bryant concluded the evening by encouraging those present to volunteer in the campaign. He introduced Sheryl Briggs, candidate for the House in District 93, who thanked those who have helped and gave special thanks to the Legion cooks and staff for the meal.
