AUBURN – James L. Lombard, 72, of Turner, passed away on Oct. 31, with his loving family by his side after a long illness.

He worked at IP for many years before retiring. He was a Korean War veteran and served in the Army and Navy.

He enjoyed his time hunting and fishing with his sons, Steve and Jeff. He enjoyed taking long walks in the field with his dogs and best friends, Bella and Dakota, who he is enjoying time with once again! He loved watching the Red Sox and especially seeing them win the World Series!

Jim also enjoyed spending time with his son, Travis N. Lombard, who meant the world to him and was No. 1 in his eyes.

He was the one that we all looked up to and his granddaughter, Taylor M. Morgan, wrote him a letter that he enjoyed reading often while he was ill. A small passage she wrote: “I am not sure anyone has told you this, but you are honestly my true hero. You have stuck through so much this past year and you have been so strong through it. You would have to be one of the bravest people I have ever met.”

He will be sadly missed by his true and loving family, his wife, Judith A. Lombard; his sons, Travis N. Lombard, Walter H. Jones, Steven R. Jones and his fiancée, Christine Kang, Jeff R. Olum and his wife, Julie Olum; his daughter, Karey A. Morgan and her husband, Sonny Morgan; and seven wonderful grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the whole staff at Androscoggin Home Hospice who took special care and gave great attention to Jim and his family through some very difficult days.
