SOUTH PARIS – Kenneth Nils Lindstrom, 82, of Robinson Hill Road, Oxford, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the Maine Veterans’ Home.
He was born Jan. 23, 1925, in West Orange, N.J., a son of Reinhold and Hilda Anderson Lindstrom. He served in the U.S. Army/Air Force from 1943 to 1946 as a B-29 airplane mechanic.
He married Mary Josephine Petak on Dec. 20, 1952, in Midland Park, N.J. After his retirement from PSE&G in 1980, he and Mary moved from Glenrock, N.J., to Naples. After Mary died, he made his home with his son Keith and daughter-in-law, Mary and three granddaughters. He was a wonderful “papa” to his granddaughters and will be greatly missed. He was a constant tinkerer as well as a weather enthusiast.
Surviving are his three sons, Kenneth Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Wisconsin, Kevin and his wife, Tina, of Colorado, and Keith and his wife, Mary, of Oxford; his brother, Sven and his wife, Moyra, of California; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary J. Lindstrom Dec. 16. 2004; and his sister, Margareta.
The family extends a special thank you to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice as well as the Maine Veterans’ Home staff for their loving care of Kenneth.
