Elyria, OHIO – Simone Marie-Ange Healey, 94, died Wednesday evening at the home of her daughter after a brief battle with colon cancer.

She was born in Montreal, Quebec, on Nov. 14, 1913, the daughter of Godias and Marie-Louise (Milton) Boucher. At the age of seven, she moved to Maine and was educated in local schools.

On Dec. 19, 1932, she married William J. Healey at St. Mary’s Church in Lewiston. She became a United States citizen in 1942, and worked at The Pepperell until moving to Willoughby, Ohio.

In the 1970s, Simone and Bill moved to St. Cloud, Fla., where they enjoyed their retirement years, made many good friends and were visited frequently by family members.

She returned to Maine and made her home at Lake Auburn Apartments in Auburn. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed dining out and shopping.

Her sense of style and her quiet, graceful manner made her easy to befriend and difficult to forget.

She will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Patricia Griswold and her husband, Kenneth, of North Reading, Mass., Rita Daniels and her husband, Frank, of Kirtland, Ohio, and Carol Pisano and her husband, Mario, of Elyria, Ohio; her son, William and his wife, Janice, of Lisbon; 21 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, William; and her brothers, Henry and Roland Boucher.
