VERO BEACH, Fla. – Rita Pauline Samson of Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of Sabattus, died Nov. 16, in Florida.

She was born in Lewiston, Aug. 2, 1942, the daughter of Conrad and Adrienne Couture. She attended Lewiston High School.

On Jan. 27, 1971, she married Rick Samson. She worked as a certified nurse’s aide at the Marcotte Nursing Home, at the Lamp Nursing Home and at Geiger Bros., before moving to Florida.

Before she moved to Florida, she enjoyed spending time entertaining family and friends, having cookouts in the back yard and playing cards such as “King in the Hole.” She also enjoyed going to Old Orchard Beach for pizza and French fries. She watched the Boston Red Sox games as much as she could.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Samson, and a sister, Sandra Buckingham, both of Vero Beach, Fla.; children, Debbie Stevens and husband, John, of North Monmouth, Todd Monier and wife, Julia, of Lisbon and Tricia Kent and husband, Steve, of Vero Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Candace Frederick and Cory Monier, Brittney Monier, and Megan and Alexandria Kent; great-grandchild, Brianna Frederick; a special cousin, Pauline and husband, Winnie McDonald; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews; and many friends in Maine and Florida.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Robert.
