I was absolutely outraged when I read in the Nov. 21 paper that Gov. John Baldacci and state Treasurer David Lemoine squandered $20 million in taxpayer money on a bad investment they knew was risky in the first place.

Maine is one of the highest taxed states in the nation; now two top officials gamble our hard-earned money away? Both should be made accountable and be forced to step down.

There is absolutely no excuse for their ill-conceived actions. Everyone talks about the waste that occurs in Washington. Well, folks, we’ve seen it right before our eyes in the good old state of Maine.

We need and deserve some answers. Now!
