DOVER, N.H. – David W. Orino, 70, of West Ossipee, N.H., passed away Friday, Nov. 23, at the Wentworth Douglas Hospital.
He was born Feb. 22, 1937, in Rumford, the son of the late Adolphus “Duke” and Maude (Gaudet) Orino. He was a graduate of Stephens High School and the University of Maine, Class of 1957, where he was a member and served as president of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was discharged in 1962, after two years of service, with the rank of first lieutenant.
He had lived in Ossipee for the past 36 years, and was first employed by Humble Oil and Refining Co. In 1968, he purchased Dube and Murphy Inc., a petroleum distributing company. After 1984, he represented other companies as a sales representative.
He was an active member of the Ossipee Valley Bible Church in West Ossipee. He was involved in local and state activities and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a dedicated private pilot of single and multiengine aircraft with an instrument rating which he used doing search and rescue with the New Hampshire Civil Air Patrol. He also loved to cook.
He is survived by a daughter, Jean M. Orino of San Francisco, Calif.; a son, David C. Orino of Salt Lake City, Utah; two brothers, Dr. James Orino and his wife, Wanda, of Rumford, and Daniel Orino and his wife, Irene, of Acton; a sister, Paula Yardley and her husband, Emil, of Meadville, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Richard F. Orino.
