AUBURN – Auburn Public Library’s Holiday Open House is chugging into town on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. on the library’s main floor at 49 Spring St.
Featuring a model railroad display constructed by the Great Falls Model Railroad Club near the elevator, the open house will have a host of activities and items for sale.
Bookreach coordinator Kathleen Demers will host a story time featuring the book “Polar Express” and youngsters will be able to make crafts in the children’s room.
Members of the Great Falls Model Railroad Club will be on hand to answer questions about their layout and author George Melvin will be available to answer questions about his Maine railroad books.
Refreshments will be provided and, for those who would like to pick up a holiday gift, the library will have white stuffed bears, train whistles, mugs, holiday poinsettias and copies of “Polar Express” available for purchase.
The drawing for the library’s holiday quilt will take place also. Tickets are still available at the circulation desk. Proceeds from the open house will benefit the library’s collections and services.
