MEXICO – Anyone wishing to enroll in spring 2008 semester university courses can register now through University College at Rumford/Mexico, 13 Brown St. Most courses will begin the week of Jan. 14.

In January Maine’s seven public universities will offer more than 400 courses at University College at Rumford/Mexico. Courses are taught by faculty on-site at the center, online, via interactive television (ITV) and videoconferencing.

At University College and at ITV sites in Rangeley Lakes District School, Upper Kennebec Valley High School, Foster Technical School in Farmington and Livermore Falls Adult Learning Center, students can take courses leading to degree and certificate programs in a variety of disciplines.

They include business administration, mental health and human services, justice studies, library and information services and nursing. The universities offer flexible schedules and course delivery options, including a growing number of online courses.

In addition to university courses, University College at Rumford/Mexico offers personalized support for students, particularly to those beginning college for the first time. Staff help students apply for financial aid, navigate online courses, apply for admission to a degree program, register for classes and order textbooks.
