BETHEL – Plans for the 10th annual New Year’s Bethel on Monday, Dec. 31, are finalized and sponsors are being sought to help fund the event.
The community tradition will again feature a diverse range of performers and presentations, including Clyde Folsom, Maine humorist; Ti’ Acadie Contra Dance Band, Jewel Clark and Donnie Katlin, country musicians; the Maine Kanteles, Finnish Lap harp musicians; Judy Lee, cabaret entertainer; and State Street Traditional Jazz Band.
There will also be a children’s dragon parade, marshmallow roasting on the town common, horse-drawn wagon rides with Diane Ward, hospitality refreshments throughout the evening, reception with piano music by Lynn Arizzi, and finally the bell ringer parade down to the town clock to officially and literally ring in the New Year at midnight.
Sponsorship levels are patron, $200 or more; backer, $100 or more; contributor, $99 or less.
Business sponsorships are also available and the society accepts appropriate “gifts in kind.” All sponsors will be listed at each venue on De and in releases issued weekly until the event.
