LIVERMORE FALLS – SAD 36 directors and Jay School Committee members have each scheduled a special meeting today to approve submission of a partial plan developed by a regional planning committee to form Regional School Unit 40.

Residents of Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls have been working on a plan, as required by the state, to reorganize school systems by means of consolidation. A plan is due to the state by Saturday, Dec. 1.

The planning committee has made some progress but has a long way to go before a complete proposal is ready.

SAD 36 directors will meet at 6 p.m. today at the Cedar Street Learning Complex to make their decision.

Jay School Committee will meet at 6 p.m. today at the Jay Middle School library. That meeting will also include an executive session to discuss union negotiations with educational technicians.
