LEWISTON – Wintertime parking restrictions go into effect today. Vehicles parked on city streets for more than one hour between midnight and 6 a.m. will be ticketed.

Vehicle owners are urged to make alternate arrangements for parking off the street.

City parking lots are available to park vehicles without cost between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. During weekends, the city lots permit free parking between 6 p.m. Fridays and 6 a.m. the following Mondays.

During times of announced parking bans in anticipation of major storms, vehicles left on the street may be towed at the owner’s expense.
