Auburn – Rita E. Duchette, 90, of 15 Orchard St., Lewiston, passed away on Friday, Nov. 30, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
She was born in Lewiston on March 4, 1917, the daughter of Elie and Philomene Chretien Laroche. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married on April 19, 1939, to Roland G. Duchette who predeceased her on Nov. 17, 1989. She was a loving and caring mother and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Joanne Berube and husband, Robert, of Lewiston; a son, Gerald “Pete” Duchette of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Michelle Duchette Howe and husband, Steve, Susan Berube Edmunds, John Berube and Linda Berube Teacutter and husband, Dan; seven great-grandchildren, Cody and Abbie Howe, Karen, Jeremiah and Noah Edmunds and Haley and Danielle Teacutter.
She was predeceased by her husband, Roland; sisters, Rose Laroche Moreau, Germaine Laroche, Yvonne Laroche Levesque, Simone Laroche Hamel and Irene Laroche Brown.
