LEWISTON – Marie A. Beal, 63, of 540 College St., Lewiston and formerly of Greene, died Saturday, Dec. 1, at Central Maine Medical Center, after a long illness.

She was born in Greene on March 2, 1944, the daughter of Oscar and Priscilla (Michaud) Beal and had been a resident of this community all of her life.

In 1950, she attended the former Lane School, a one-room school house with her teacher, Mrs. Annie B. Douglas, which she enjoyed very much.

She enjoyed doing crafts, watching television and helping others in need.

She is survived by 13 cousins, Wanita Flaherty and her husband, Moses Sr., of Litchfield, Rose Bond and her fiancé, Donald Retter, of Greene, Valore Crowley and Betty Wing, both of Sabattus, Robert Wing of Lewiston, Ruth, Rena, Rita, Esther and Donna, all of Greene, Sandra of Lewiston, Joanne of Georgia, and Mark of Lewiston; and a special friend, Venise Getchell of Montello Commons in Lewiston.

The family would like to thank the staff at Central Maine Medical Center and Montello Manor for the excellent care they have given to Marie.
