Farmington’s newly hired part-time sidewalk plow operator, Gary Dorr, of Jay made his way up High Street Monday clearing the paths for pedestrians. After 26 years working as a plow operator for the state, Dorr retired and recently was approved by selectmen for the part-time work. Dorr worked his way around telephone poles, driveways, pedestrians and dogs, he said. Approximately 11 miles of sidewalks are plowed around the town, West Farmington and Fairbanks area, said Jim Kiernan from the Public Works Dept.
