Society program

FARMINGTON – The Farmington Historical Society will meet on Monday, Dec. 10, at the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, Academy Street. There will be a potluck supper at 6 p.m. followed by a business meeting and program at 7.

Emily Floyd will lead those attending in singing Christmas carols. Guests and new members are welcome.

Seniors meet

LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens met at Murray Hall on Nov. 26 with 19 members present.

Jim Williams presided over the meeting as Chairwoman Shirley Couture was absent due to the death of her brother-in-law, Placide Couture. Williams led a prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for departed members and the men and women in the Armed Forces.

The sick list included Dora Slovak and Edith Leblanc. Members were reminded that it was the first week to sign up for a Christmas meal and party. The monthly bingo game was held on Dec. 3.

The 50-50 was won by Eugene Pomerleau. Two articles were donated by members and they were won by Marilyn Desoto and Lorette Chabot. The meeting was adjourned and cards and games were played.

Book available

EUSTIS – The Flagstaff Chapel Association has announced it has received another shipment of the book “There was a Land.” The book was written by 70 people who lived in Flagstaff, telling their stories. Musical program

SALEM – A+E Hill Country Music will return to the Salem Community Building at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, weather permitting. A donation box will be at the door and refreshments will be on sale. The afternoon is being sponsored by the Salem Pine Tree Club.
