Panel on ethnicity

PORTLAND – WMPG, USM’s greater Portland community radio station, will present a live, moderated panel discussion in which people from various ethnicities and cultures will talk about their experiences.

The event will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, in the USM Luther Bonney Auditorium, Portland campus. It will also be broadcast live at 90.9 and 104.1 FM, as well as online at www.wmpg.org during the Mama Africa Show, a weekly show which airs from noon to 2 p.m. Sundays.

The participants will speak on what they value, what they find challenging or difficult about their ethnicity while living in the U.S., and what words or actions they have experienced which they never want to have repeated. The purpose of the event is to foster open discussion, mutual understanding and respect.

It is free and open to the public. It will also be audio archived online within a week after the show on www.wmpg.org.
