LIVERMORE FALLS – A man faces an operating-under-the-influence charge after the vehicle he was in went out of control, hit a utility pole and rolled onto its side on Park Street.
Power was knocked out for about two hours Monday at 6:12 p.m. when the accident was reported, Lt. Thomas Gould said.
Robert White, 50, of Livermore Falls was heading south on Park Street when the 2000 Grand Caravan he was driving went out of control on snow and ice on a corner, crossed the center line and went across the opposite lane before striking the pole and knocking the utility lines down near 568 Park St., Gould said.
White was checked at the scene by ambulance medics and then taken to the police station, he said.
He was charged with operating under the influence and violation of bail conditions for a previous pending OUI charge, Gould said.
Speed and alcohol were factors in the crash, he said.
White was taken to Androscoggin County jail in Auburn.
