Unicef was created in 1946 mainly to help in China, Europe and the Middle East. Now Unicef is all around the world, helping needy children. Funds from Unicef goes to help children who need clean water, education, and medical help. Trick-or-Treat for Unicef was created in 1950 and is commonly known as, “Kids Helping Kids!” This program allows for kids, teens, and college students to go out into their communities and rather than collecting candy on Halloween, they collect money. Every trick-or-treater gets a little orange box for which the money is kept while they trick-or-treat. Most schools have this program mingled into one of their clubs, and day after Halloween students bring their raised money to school. The money goes to Unicef to help those kids who die everyday from disease and dehydration. Last year, trick-or-treaters from around America raised about $4.5 million. This is a great opportunity for anyone on Halloween. Why not get involved next year!
