LAKELAND, Fla. – Gertrude M. Martineau, 78, lost her battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 4, with her loving family at her side.

She was born in St. Basile, Canada, May 25, 1929. She moved to Lakeland in 1969 from Lewiston, and was a member of the Resurrection Catholic Church, Lakeland, Fla.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Leo Martineau; son, Philip N. Martineau of Rincon, Ga.; daughter, Angele L. Tice and her husband, John, of Lakeland, Fla.; and grandson, Dylan Tice.

She was predeceased by a son, Angelo; her sisters, Dora Mercure, Rita Mercure, Lorette Rioux and Jeanne Gagne; and her brother, Roland Mercure.
