WINTHROP – Lorena C. Crocker, 85, a longtime resident of New Street, North Monmouth, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Heritage Nursing Home.

She was born July 5, 1922, in North Leeds, the daughter of B. Russell and Grace Beal Cram. She was a graduate of Monmouth Academy and also attended Bliss College in Lewiston.

On July 27, 1945 in Wales, she married Francis E. Crocker. She worked at the Winthrop Woolen Mills and then went to work for the state of Maine, working as a secretary to the secretary of state, retiring in 1984.

She and Francis enjoyed camping and a cruise they took to Hawaii; she also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening, really liked arts and crafts and was a great cook. She and Francis enjoyed the many winters they spent in Florida.

She is survived by her husband, Francis, of North Monmouth; a daughter, Kathleen Gerard and her husband, Milton, of Augusta; a son, Gary Crocker and his wife, Ellen, of West Gardiner; a brother, Brad Cram and his wife, Virginia, of Wales; two granddaughters, Heather Gleason and Tiffany Manor; stepgrandsons, Peter Gerard and family, Andrew Gerard and family and Matthew and Adam Keene; and a niece, Sharon Bickford and her husband, Roger, of Leesburg, Fla.
