LIVERMORE FALLS – Town Manager Martin Puckett plans to discuss two community development grant opportunities to improve the downtown at Monday’s selectmen’s meeting.
The meeting, initially scheduled for Monday, Dec. 3, was postponed until 6:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 10, at the town office due to a snowstorm.
One grant would target business enterprises the town could support by seeking grant funds with no local match required. The grant money would be offered to business owners interested in improving the appearance of their properties.
Selectmen would set guidelines for the grant, such as setting up the funding as either low-interest loans, 50-50 match or a complete grant, he said.
Input would be sought from the public in the grant application process.
The other grant for downtown revitalization is for up to $500,000 and would require a 25 percent local match.
Selectmen are also scheduled to discuss trash hauling issues.
