RUMFORD – A Mass of Christian Burial for Alice M. Zadakis was celebrated Oct. 31, at St. Athanasius-St. John Catholic Church. The Rev. Angelo LeVasseur was the celebrant. George Gionet was the altar server. Mark Belanger was the organist. Music selections were “Because the Lord is My Shepard,” “Ave Maria,” “Wind Beneath My Wings” and “On Eagles Wings.” The readings were done by first granddaughter Carrie Elliott and second granddaughter Gwendolyn Downs. The eulogy was given by her daughter Constance Porter. Pallbearers were sons-in-law, Dennis Merchant, Ellery Porter Jr., Bruce Bulger, Jeffrey Downs, five grandsons, Ryan Kerr, Jonathan Merchant, Alek Porter, Isak Porter, Noah Downs, and godchild, Rapheno Thibeault Jr. Private interment was in St. John Cemetery.
