New roof
The scoop: Councilors awarded the contract for a new roof on the transfer station to Industrial Roofing Co. on its low bid of $12,000. There were two other bids: $12,555 and $18,750.
Sign coming
The scoop: In his report to councilors, interim Town Manager David Brooks reported the electronic message sign at the town office will be completed late this month or early January. Meanwhile, he said the new street lights on East Avenue have been installed. Brooks also noted the need for workshop meetings.
Code updates
The scoop: As part of an ongoing update of town codes, a new purchasing policy and updates to the victualer’s licensing code were adopted.
License renewals
The scoop: A special entertainment permit, victualer’s license and liquor licenses were granted to Sandra Harkins, d/b/a Railroad Diner. Junkyard license renewals were granted to Campbell’s Used Auto Parts and Huston’s Auto Salvage.
