House numbers, securely attached to dwellings, is a most-important tool in enabling police, fire, ambulance and other safety services locate a person in distress. An outside light, strategically placed can also be a lifesaver, as well as a deterrent to crime. This Christmas, we hope to provide the permanent numbers, as well as a security light to the homes that are now in jeopardy. Dear Sun Spots: I am writing to express my deep appreciation of your column. My entire family uses your column for everything we can think of. I even had an uncle who lives at a distant location reconnect with an old customer of his at the bank, through your writings. My situation is this: I have old family slides I would like to preserve. They are such wonderful pictures. One of them is a picture of a field burning that my aforementioned uncle set ablaze while playing with matches!
