Dear Sun Spots: Wicked Good Neighbors is partnering with the Dominican Sisters to help bring greater safety for up to 125 senior citizens in the rural Sabattus/Wales area.

House numbers, securely attached to dwellings, is a most-important tool in enabling police, fire, ambulance and other safety services locate a person in distress. An outside light, strategically placed can also be a lifesaver, as well as a deterrent to crime. This Christmas, we hope to provide the permanent numbers, as well as a security light to the homes that are now in jeopardy. Sun Spot readers interested in contributing to the safety of our elders are invited to send a contribution of $4.50 for a set of numbers or $35 for a light, to Sister Lucille Fournier at 61 Lisbon Road, Sabattus, ME 04280 or call Sister Lucille at 375-8399 or Debbie at 375-4679 for more information. Thank you for your care and concern. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: I am looking for small baskets, about 16 inches round and 4 inches deep and with or without handles. I decorate them and then donate to various groups in the area. I can be reached at 225-3861. Thank you. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: The holiday season is a time when one’s heart is more apt to give and share good things with the less fortunate.

Kindly keep your canceled stamps to help support ministering to the poor in Camaroon Africa. Saving foreign and US Stamps takes a few minutes of your time. Please leave a ½ inch border around the stamp. Albums might also be sleeping in drawers so how about giving them away?

If you are a collector how about sending the double ones or the two stamp mint, included.

To all, I offer my best wishes for pleasant holidays.

Merry Christmas! Blessed New Year!

Dear Sun Spots: I am writing to express my deep appreciation of your column. My entire family uses your column for everything we can think of. I even had an uncle who lives at a distant location reconnect with an old customer of his at the bank, through your writings. My situation is this: I have old family slides I would like to preserve. They are such wonderful pictures. One of them is a picture of a field burning that my aforementioned uncle set ablaze while playing with matches! Is there someone in the Lewiston/Auburn area who can have put these slides on a computer disc? I had a name from my sainted mother, who has misplaced it. I go to visit her often when my cat needs to be taken care of while I am on vacation. I believe she said she wrote to Sun Spots for the information! Can you help me? – No Name, Turner.
