Library gathering

WATERFORD – The traditional Waterford Library holiday community gathering for families will be held beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, on the Waterford Common with candlelit caroling. The gathering will then go to the library for refreshments. Children will have an opportunity to visit with Santa and they will each receive a book as a gift from the library.

Christmas event

NORWAY – The vocal and bell choirs of the Second Congregational Church, UCC, Main Street, will present an afternoon of carols, anthems and readings at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16. The English Hand Bells will ring and the vocal choir will sing secular and sacred pieces. There will also be carols, readings and refreshments to follow.

Cookie decorating

WEST PARIS – The West Paris Public Library will offer sugar cookie decorating for children of all ages. A variety of cookie shapes and decorating possibilities will be available during library hours on Monday, Dec. 17, from: 1:30 to 6 p.m.; Wednesday, Dec. 19, from 1:30 to 7 p.m.; and Friday, Dec. 21, from 1:30 to 6 p.m. For more information, call 674-2004.

Bridge results

NORWAY – Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Dec. 7 in the Fare Share Commons. A four-table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first in Flight A were Kathy and Pete Cummings; tied for second, Dick Allen and Bev Dolan and Barbara Beegel and John Bravo.

Finishing first in Flight B were Barbara Beegel and John Bravo; tied for second, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr and Eleanor Griffin and Jim Dickens.

There will a Christmas party prior to the Friday, Dec. 14, game at 9 a.m. All bridge players are welcome. A partner is guaranteed.
