BANGOR – Sean Fry scored an outstanding 35 points on 12 field goals, including five treys, to lead the University of Maine at Farmington to an 83-73 triumph over Husson College in men’s basketball action Monday.

Fry’s point total was the highest single-game amount since Bobby Deetjen scored 36 points in an 80-76 win over Lyndon State College on Jan. 26, 2002.

Farmington held a 44-36 advantage at intermission, but Husson fought back to a 54-53 edge on a Matt Mackenzie jumper with 14:12 left in the second half. The game was knotted at 59-59 when the Beavers went on a 9-0 run over the next 3:14 to take a 68-59 advantage with 8:14 remaining in the contest.

Fry recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds to go along with his 35 points for the Beavers.

Isaac Hutchinson contributed 14 points for Farmington, while Andrew Dean added another 11 points. Scott Kissinger led the way for the Eagles with 22 points, while Sheraud Lee pitched in with 12 points ,

Women’s Basketball

Husson 76, UMaine- Farmington 72

BANGOR – Shelby Bradford had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds to lead Husson to a 76-62 win over the University of Maine at Farmington Monday night.

Jenny Rollins poured in 17 points, while Ashley Bragon contributed nine for Husson.

Caitlyn Laflin and Erin Porter each scored 13 points a piece. Samantha Wiley and Ashley Busque each added 12 points apiece for UMF.
