LEWISTON – James Fredrick Dowden, 53, died Dec. 9, at his family home.

He was born in Lewiston at St. Mary’s Hospital in 1954. He was the son of Fredrick D. and Doris Dowden.

He was a musician and part of many bands throughout his life. He loved the outdoors, biking, fishing and swimming.

He was father to Amber Grogan of Manchester, N.H., brother to Alene Pettus of Sarasota, Fla., and grandfather, to Kelly Grogan, 4, of Manchester, N.H.

His family wishes to thank those who cared and looked after him.
