BRUNSWICK (AP) – It turns out the 2007 Great State of Maine Air Show wasn’t the last at Brunswick Naval Air Station.
The Navy announced Wednesday that the Blue Angels flight demonstration team will return to Brunswick again in September.
The two-day show has drawn more than 200,000 people in years past. The show is thought to be the biggest single-event gathering in Maine.
With the base scheduled to close in 2011, base officials had questioned whether the 2007 show would be the final one in Brunswick.
But the base decided to submit an application for a show in 2008. It will be held on Sept. 6 and 7.
