RUMFORD – Mary A. Sullivan, 88, of Holyoke Avenue, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Rumford Hospital.

She was born in Mexico, on Feb. 24, 1919, a daughter of Bruno and Rose (Samarco) Buccina.

She was educated in Mexico schools and was a graduate of Mexico High School, Class of 1936.

She was a communicant of St. Athanasius-St. John Catholic Church.

She enjoyed cooking, reading and collecting roosters.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy A. Sullivan of Rumford; two brothers, Joseph Buccina and wife, Olga, of Rumford and James Buccina and wife, Hazel, of Rumford; four sisters, Jennie Curato, Rose McInnis, and Nancy Martin, all of Rumford, and Ann Tripp and husband, Percy, of Westbrook; a brother-in-law, Leo Melanson of Rumford; a sister-in-law, Theresa Sullivan of Rumford; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Joseph J. Sullivan Sr.; a son, Joseph J. Sullivan Jr.; and a sister, Elizabeth Melanson.
