Christmas musical
JAY – The Bean’s Corner Baptist Church Choir will present the Christmas musical, “Worship the King,” during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Dec. 16. The 20-minute presentation will tell the story of Christ’s birth in song and narration. Holly LaPointe and Pastor Ira Hall are soloists. The public is invited.
Carols, candles
PHILLIPS – A special service of carols and candles will be celebrated at 4 p.m. Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, at the Congregational Church. Those wishing may bring a canned food item for the food pantry. Pastor Susan Burgess will lead the service.
The church is collecting gifts for the Abused Women’s Advocacy Project during December. It has also “adopted” a mother with two children for Christmas giving.
The church is also preparing to send some basic kitchen supplies to the town of El Junco, Honduras; the items will be taken there by a mission group in January. Anyone wishing to contribute to either of these outreach programs may contact Pat Matulaitis at 639-3786.
Sunday services are at 10 a.m., choir is Wednesdays from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Home visits on the first Sunday of each month can be arranged by calling Matulaitis or Burgess at 491-5353.
