FARMINGTON – Ruth H. Beedy, 89, a resident of Livermore Falls, passed away Thursday, Dec. 13, at Franklin Memorial Hospital after nearly a year’s stay at Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center.

She was born on May 12, 1918, in Wilton, the daughter of Willard and Sadie (Crockett) Huse. She was a 1936 graduate of Wilton Academy. On Jan. 23, 1938, she married Clarence Beedy of Kingfield. He passed away in 1984.

She was an avid reader and a former Livermore Falls librarian at the Treat Memorial Library for many years, as well as a wonderful story teller. She was a social leader in Brettuns and gracious to all of her neighbors and welcomed all who moved to the area. One of her favorite positions was that of a Girl Scout leader. In addition to being from the Livermore Falls area, she enjoyed her home in St. Cloud, Fla., where she and her husband spent their winters prior to living with her daughter.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Marcia Newcomb and her husband, Harold, of Livermore Falls; three grandsons, Sport Knapp and his wife, Sarah, of Jay, Hector Knapp and his wife, Tia, of Livermore Falls and David Newcomb and Polly Toye of Nashua, N.H.; granddaughters, Debra Pratt and her husband, Andrew, of Livermore Falls, Nancy Heird and her husband, James, of South Carolina; great-grandchildren, Levi, Brandi, Tayla, Christian, Jessica, Erica, Ashley, Lindsey and Coryn; she will also be remembered by her special daughters, Sherry Phillips, Jerlaine Leclerc and Polly Toye.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence; and a brother, Roland Huse.
