SABATTUS – Emile A. Lacasse, 83, of Nancy Lane, Sabattus, died Thursday, Dec. 13, at his home, with his loving family at his side, after a long illness.
He was born in St. Rose de Waterford, Quebec, on Aug. 11, 1924, a son to the late Eugene and Odelia (Pomerleau) Lacasse.
He graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Jackman. He married the love of his life Florence T. Ouellette on June 17, 1948 at St. Mary’s Church. He worked at the shipyard working with blueprints and later he opened his family business Emile’s Diner in 1945, and later made it into Lacasse Bakery and ran it with his wife Florence until they retired in 2004. Things he loved the most were his family, traveling and hunting.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years, Florence of Sabattus; a son, Emile A. Lacasse Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Oxford; three grandchildren, Roxanne, Brandilee and Nicholas Lacasse; a great-granddaughter, Rose Alyn Downing; he will also be missed by three dear nieces, Kit Sawyer, Brenda Dasinger and Carol Martel with whom he had a very special relationship; a brother, Arthur Lacasse and his wife, Lorraine; and too many other nieces and nephews to list.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Felix and Leo; and a sister, Ynonne Rossignol.
