NORWAY – Mildred E. Mason Edwards, 71, of Lewiston, died Thursday, Dec. 13, at Stephens Memorial Hospital after a long illness, with her family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on March 18, 1936, the daughter of Albert and Katherine Perkins Verrill. She married Donald Mason Sr. in July of 1954. He passed away on Dec. 26, 1975.

She resided in Lewiston and retired from Marshwood Nursing Home nine years ago. Until her health declined she enjoyed gardening, cooking, music and dancing.

She is survived by three children, Donald Mason Jr. of Oxford, Cynthia Johnson and her husband, John, of West Paris and Debora Reynolds and her husband, Bobby, of Otisfield; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, with another one due in June; and a sister, Mary Richards of Auburn.

She was predeceased by a son, David S. Mason; and a brother, Albert Verrill.
