Timothy Pulk’s wife and parents were also convicted for their involvement

PORTLAND – A Sabattus man who pleaded guilty to leading a conspiracy to traffic cocaine between Texas and Maine last year was sentenced Friday to serve more than 10 years in prison.

He was also ordered to forfeit his home and property.

Timothy Pulk, 46, of 515 Middle St. was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 121 months in prison and five years of supervised release.

U.S. District Court Judge George Z. Singal imposed the sentence following a hearing on May 25, at which time Pulk pleaded guilty to distribution and possession with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine as well as money laundering.

In addition, Singal ordered Pulk to forfeit real estate and personal property, including his house, which is estimated to be worth approximately half a million dollars.

Pulk was arrested in July 2006 after a 16-month investigation.

Court records show that between 2002 and 2005, Pulk was the leader of a conspiracy that brought cocaine from Texas to Maine, where it was distributed.

The evidence showed that members of the conspiracy brought more than five kilograms of cocaine from Texas to Maine.

Court records further show that Pulk and others, including his mother, father and wife, assisted Pulk in laundering the proceeds of drug sales.

Pulk and his parents bought real estate in Maine with the proceeds from drug trafficking, according to prosecutors.

James and Elaine Pulk of Lisbon Falls, Timothy Pulk’s parents, were previously convicted and sentenced for their involvement in the money laundering activity.

Angela Sargent of Sabattus, Timothy Pulk’s wife, has pleaded guilty to drug and money laundering charges relating to the same conduct.

Her sentencing is scheduled for early next year.
