RUMFORD – Eva B. Dupuis, 98, formerly of Franklin Street, Rumford, died Friday, Dec. 14, at Rumford Community Home following a long illness.
She was born on Dec. 7, 1909, in LaPatrie, Quebec, a daughter of Maxime and Almesime (Charland) LaTendresse. Eva attended schools in Quebec.
She was a communicant of St. Athanasius and St. John Catholic Church and was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne.
Eva enjoyed knitting, cooking, gardening, sewing and watching TV.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two sons, Jacques G. Dupuis and wife, Joyce, of Rumford, and Andre` M. Dupuis and wife, Jean, of Mexico; two daughters, Nicole A. Harris and husband, Michael, of Rumford, and Lisette F. Bernard and husband, Richard, of Westbrook; a sister, Jeanne St. Amant of Montreal; a brother, Donat LaTendresse of LaPatrie, Quebec; a special niece, Mona Chicoine; 18 grandchildren, Denise Richard, Lynda Dupuis, Laurie Noel, Lisa Lyons, David Dupuis, Daniel Dupuis, Kelly Pelletier, Shelly Benedix, Andrew Dupuis, Michael Harris, Philip Harris, Kim Harris, Dawn Larsen, Hans Harris, Kevin Bernard, Kathy Bernard, Kris Bernard, and Kyleigh Dupuis; many great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Ernest P. Dupuis; three brothers, Valmore, Edgar and Herve LaTendresse; three sisters, Aurore Bouchard, Germaine Chicoine and Irene Daigneault.
The family would like to offer a special thank-you to the hospice nurses and the staff at the Rumford Community Home for the wonderful care given to their mother.
