BRUNSWICK – A man died from injuries suffered during a car crash Friday on Route 1, police said.
The 48-year-old driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene at about 3 p.m., roughly a half-mile north of the Cooks Corner exit.
The car left the road and hit some trees in the median, police wrote in a written release.
One of two passengers in the car was cut from the wreckage and pulled from the rear of the car. He was taken to Maine Medical Center with lower body injuries. A second passenger, 39, suffered minor injuries. That man, who was 39-years-old, was taken to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
Police withheld the names of all three riders pending notification of next of kin. Police asked that any witnesses to the crash who left the scene before rescue arrived call 725-5521.
