Dear Sun Spots: I’m interested in knowing more about the new senior housing that is going up at the old St. Dom’s High School site on Bates Street in Lewiston. I wanted to know the cost of the rents? If there is a long waiting list and most all, how to get in touch with the person in charge of renting the apartments? I was told it was someone by the name of Claudette at Community Concepts. However, I’m currently in New Hampshire and don’t have a number for them. I appreciate any information you can give me. Thank you. – Claire S. Sanbornville, N.H.
Answer: You may reach Claudette Therriault at Community Concepts, 57 Birch St., Lewiston, ME 04240, 784-0836. Press option 2, under voice mail options.
Also, Sun Spots spoke with Claudette, who says rents range from $475 to $597, and are dependent on income. They also do welcome Section 8 certificates.
Therriault says not all the rentals are filled so there is no waiting list at the present time. Applications are still being accepted. To apply, please call Claudette at the above number. If she is not available, she is often in and out of the office, please leave a detailed message.
Dear Sun Spots: Did Michelle of Livermore Falls mean Zagnuts candy bar, not cag nuts? If so, they are available through the Vermont Country Store, www.vermontcountrystore.com. – Jeff, Auburn.
Dear Sun Spots: I read in the Sun Spots of Dec. 11, that a woman was looking for Cagnuts candy bars, and was wondering if perhaps she meant Zag Nuts? That is a peanut-butter filled candy bar coated in toasted coconut, and is absolutely delicious. I believe it can be found at Victor News on Park Street in Lewiston, as I had purchased some there in the recent past. – No Name, No Town.

Dear Sun Spots: A while back there was a piece in the paper about a lawyer out of Portland that took a case about the police overdoing their arrest on a guy with a Tazer gun. Hopefully you can track it down as I need the lawyer’s name to see if he can help me with a case of overdoing an arrest on a woman. Thank you in advance. – No Name, No Town.

I have an elderly cat that is on medication and I need to keep track of her weight. If you have a baby scale collecting dust and you would like to be rid of it, please call me. I may be reached at 786-0478. Preferable this item would be for free or for a reasonable cost. I have called the children’s recycle shops in town with no luck. Thanks for any help. – J.
