NORWAY – Oxford Hills graduate and former Oxford Hills English teacher Michele Alberi Eshleman has written a book, titled “Reaching Out from the Inside: A Novel,” under the pen name of Lewis.

She will have a book signing from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, at Books N Things, 430 Main St.

Inspired by true events, “Reaching Out” begins with a family and community scandal. High-school teacher Mare Lumen has always tried to live a good, honorable life. But when her brother is accused of unthinkable crimes, her family’s name is splashed in headlines across Maine newspapers. The statewide scandal launches Lumen on a difficult and life-altering journey that results in a deep experience of compassion, surrender and healing.

She is forced to question everything she once believed to be true, including what’s good and what’s evil. She is in crisis, and her family and marriage are tested.
