LEWISTON – David A. Wood, 69, a resident of 55 Summer St., Auburn, died unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 16, at Central Maine Medical Center, with his family by his side.

He was born in Providence, R.I., Aug. 26, 1938, the son of Chester A. and Marjorie (Dennis) Wood.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict, and had been employed most of his life in the local shoe industry. He was also a drummer for more than 20 years with the “Country Ridge Riders” of Norway.

Survivors include his wife, the former Bonnie Meserve, whom he married Jan. 7, 1984, of Auburn; one son, Gary C. Wood of New Gloucester; one daughter, Lisa Wood of Auburn; and one sister, Judy of Vermont; and two grandchildren.
