Advent Sunday
FARMINGTON – Everyone is invited to celebrate the third and fourth Sundays in Advent at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church. Lily Kendall will light the candles for love and joy. “God-With-Us” will be the title of Pastor Susan Crane’s message, based on the gospel of Matthew 1:18-25.
Two services
FARMINGTON – The Farmington Area Ecumenical Ministry will host two Christmas Eve services for the community. The early service will be held at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church at 7 p.m. The late service will be held at Old South, First Congregational Church at 11 p.m. Both services will feature choir music, readings and carols. And at both services a special offering will be received.
Lessons, carols
NEW SHARON – A Christmas Eve service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, at the New Sharon Congregational United Church of Christ, Cape Cod Hill Road. The public is invited to the service of lessons and carols.
Eve service
WILTON – A Christmas Eve service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, at the United Methodist Church on Main Street. All are welcome.
Christmas events
LIVERMORE FALLS – The Church of the Nazarene has planned events for the Christmas season.
A Christmas musical, “The Christmas Present,” will be presented by the children during the 10 a.m. worship service on Sunday, Dec. 23. A Christmas play, “Christmastown,” will be presented at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23, with refreshments following.
There will be a Christmas dinner on Tuesday, Dec. 25. Those who would like to attend should call by Thursday, Dec. 20.

Christmas Eve
KINGFIELD – Kingfield United Methodist Church will celebrate the Christmas holiday with its annual Christmas Eve service. The Rev. Marriott Churchill will conduct the service beginning at 7 p.m.
The sanctuary has been decorated to mark the season. Wall decorations will include quilts, one made by Churchill’s great-grandmother in rural Kentucky at the age of 100. The service will include special music led by Bill Timmerman. Lighting in the sanctuary will be dim, providing a traditional candlelight glow.
