LEWISTON – Yvette I. Marquis, 87, of Lewiston, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, at St. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion, where she had been a resident since April 2005.

She was born in Baker Brook, New Brunswick, Canada, on March 12, 1920, the daughter of Denis Morneault and Leah (Banville) Morneault. She married the late Adolphe Marquis, who died March 15, 1972. Together they had three children, Jean Claude, Claudette and Francine.

She belonged to the Daughters of Isabella in Edmunston, New Brunswick. She moved to Lewiston in 1967, and worked for Marcotte Home and Geiger Bros. Her hobbies included sewing, playing the piano and the organ.

She is survived by two daughters, Claudette Robitaille and Francine Peters and her husband, Nelson Jr., all of Lewiston; three grandchildren, Sgt. Steve Robitaille and his wife, Teri, of San Angelo, Texas, Nelson Peters III and his wife, Ali, of Lewiston and Thomas Peters III and his wife, Erin of Canton; three great-grandchildren, Lyndi Robitaille, Nelson Peters IV and Nathan Peters; four sisters, Jane Picard, Marthe Dube, Gloria Russell and Rita Ouellette; and her second family at d’Youville Pavilion unit 4 west.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one son, Jean Claude Marquis; two sisters, Anne Russell and Bertha Russell; and two brothers, Camille and Patrick Morneault.
