LEWISTON – The Lewiston Junior Maineiacs Squirt Travel hockey team exploded out of a recent scoring slump with an impressive 8-1 victory over the Gorham Huskies last weekend at Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

Luc Dostie led the way with a hat trick. Jacob Charest added two goals for the Jr. Maineiacs. Cooper Richard and Kyle Ullrich each chipped in a gosl and an assist, and Kyle Morin contributed a goal. Reid Pomerleau notched two assists to go with one each for Jed Drapeau, Mikaela Brown, Trevor Lachance and Ryley Austin.

Sam Zashut and Kyle Welsh shared the netminding duties for Lewiston.

One day earlier, Lewiston couldn’t find the net in a 3-0 loss to the Biddeford Breakers. All three Biddeford goals came in the third period. Zashut made numerous impressive saves through the first two chapters to keep Lewiston in the hunt.
