LEWISTON – Almon F. Jordan Jr., 64, of Auburn died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 20, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 24, 1942, the son Almon F. and Margaret S. (Bryant) Jordan Sr. He attended Auburn schools and was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of 1961. He later attended University of Southern Maine, where he received his bachelor’s degree in 1985, and went on to receive his master’s degree from the University of Maine at Orono in 1992.
He worked as an accountant for Paris Manufacturers and the Lewiston Supply Co. and was a also a substitute teacher for the Auburn School Department.
He was a 17-year member of the Church of the Nazarene, but had just recently converted to Catholicism, becoming a member of the Holy Family Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty L. (Gerry) Jordan of Lewiston; three sons, Almon III and his wife, Karen, of Lewiston, Mark of Auburn and John and his wife, Rebecca, of Auburn; his grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler, Olivia, Gabryele, Noah and Aidan, all of Auburn; his nephews, Brian, Dean, Michael Jr. and Sean Jordan.
He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Sr. in 1992.
