OXFORD – Howard Thurston Sr. was charged Thursday night with breaking into a home and threatening a boy in connection with an incident earlier this week involving the boy and and Thurston’s son, patrolman Christopher Knight said Friday.

Thurston, 39, of 170 Coldwater Brook Road was arrested at his home and taken to the Oxford County Jail in Paris where he was booked on charges of criminal trespassing, criminal threatening and felony burglary, the police officer said. He was later released.

Knight said he was called to Thurston’s home after someone at the juvenile’s residence called police to say Thurston had broken in and threatened the boy, then returned to his home.

Norway police officer Ronald Cole assisted Knight in the matter.
