AUBURN – David G. Hascall passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Androscoggin Hospice in Auburn, with his family and friends by his side.

He was born May 8, 1947, in Lewiston, to Frank and Marie Hascall.

He attended schools in Durham, Pownal and Gray.

He served three years in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.

While in the Army, he married his sweetheart, the former Kathleen Carll, and upon his discharge, they made their home in North Yarmouth.

He was a mechanic for Highway Transportation and had his own garage, Auto Tech, in North Yarmouth. He was later a mechanic at Forest City Chevrolet and was also a welder for Bath Iron Works. He later joined Gibson Construction, and for the past 10 years was a supervisor for H.B. Fleming.

Hobbies included antiquing and traveling with family to Canada and throughout New England. He enjoyed old muscle cars, drag racing, especially when son, Mark, took an interest in the sport, collecting railroad insulators and traveled many miles with Kathy and son, Chris, along railroad tracks to find them.

He treasured his grandchildren, Emily and Christopher, and the time he spent with them.

Besides his wife of 40 years, he is survived by his sons, Mark Hascall and wife, Angela, and Chris Hascall and fiancée Jennifer Coyne; a brother, Brain Hascall and his wife, Judy; sisters, Judy and husband, Gary Clark and Laurie and husband, Wayne Kennedy; grandchildren, Emily and Christopher Hascall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
